Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to a new La Liga goal-scoring record
With his goal from the spot against Villarreal on Sunday, the Portuguese superstar became the first ever player in La Liga history to score 30 goals or more in five consecutive league campaigns in Spain, according to Mr Chip’s.
The forward has only failed to score less than 30 league goals in one season, which was his in first season, with 26 goals.
In 2010/11 Cristiano Ronaldo scored 41 league goals, followed by 46 goals in the 2011/12 campaign. The following season in 2013/13, the forward bagged 34 league goals, and in the previous campaign (2013/14), he was the league’s top goal scorer with 31.
